What’s in the Sourdough Tool Kit?

  • Extractable & Magnetic Bread Lame with 5 blades – This unique lame features a blade that can be extended to create intricate patterns on your dough and retracted for storage and safety. An added feature of this lame is the dual magnet clamp function. The dual magnets not only hold the blade securely in place; they also adhere the lame to any metal surface like your fridge or oven door. It will help bring order to your kitchen and ensuring your bread lame is always within reach.

  • 8.5 inch Banneton with linen cloth liner – This rattan proofing basket is the perfect size for the loaves you will be learning to make in class. It will provide structure to the sides of the dough as it rises so that it keeps its shape when it bakes. Bannetons also make great bread baskets for serving bread.

  • Danish Dough Whisk - This wooden handled bread dough mixer is made of high-quality food grade stainless steel, which is rust proof and will not bend. It has become one of our favorite tools for mixing every type of batter in our kitchen.

  • Bench Scraper – This metal bench scraper is one of my most used tools in sourdough baking. It’s a tool that will help you, divide the dough, keep it from sticking to the work surface, turn the dough, and much more.

  • Bowl Scraper – This plastic tool will help you remove every last bit of any dough or batter from any bowl without leaving residue. Dishwasher safe.

  • Plastic Bowl Covers (package of 10) - These are great for keeping your dough covered so it doesn’t dry out on the surface while proofing on the counter or in the refrigerator.

  • Flour Sack Towel (18”x28”) - This 100 percent white cotton towel is great for all kinds of kitchen work. Because it is lint-free, it is perfect for covering dough or lining bowls during cold proofing.
