Dan and I want each of you to know how much we have enjoyed serving families like yours over the past 20+ years. Many of you have grown into dear friends while others are still new to us. We love having each of you visit our farm. Your life stories, encouragement and friendship make all the hard work worthwhile. At this season of the year, we want to say how thankful we are for each of you.
We have nearly completed our first full calendar year of operation in our new farm store, and we are thrilled with the way business has been steadily increasing. It is hard for us to express how grateful we are for each of our customers and the joy that it brings us to provide our community with healthy food.
Here is a quick update on the family:
Dan & I are enjoying watching our family grow. Daily we stay busy with crops, chickens, cattle, homeschooling and our meat business. Our year has been filled with so many blessings – grandbabies to love, a high school graduation, opportunities to serve others in the name of Jesus, and much more.
Caleb & Beca are still enjoying the mountains of Colorado. Due to the pandemic, Caleb’s job with the airlines has gone to part-time status. Beca resumed teaching 5th grade at a local Christian school after a year of teaching preschool and nannying.
Luke & Brittany blessed us with our third grandchild on August 24 when Ella Grace entered the world. Big brother, Lane, just celebrated his second birthday last week. Luke continues to farm part-time and began a partnership in an excavating business with Josiah. Caring for the children and teaching kindergarten keep Brittany’s days very full.
Josiah & Logan are trying to keep up with their very active 16 month old, John Luke (Johnny). Josiah stays busy with farming and excavation work while Logan enjoys her work at the bank.
Seth graduated from Sonrise Academy in May. He spent the summer helping us on the farm, building a dog kennel, and working on his YouTube Channel, Farmer on the Prairie. By August he was ready for a new challenge and began working for a local contractor who focuses on residential remodeling and additions.
Elizabeth has been hand milking her Jersey cow, Lilac, every morning for a year now. Lilac will calve in April so Elizabeth will be getting a break for a couple of months in Feb & March. After that she will resume milking and selling raw pet milk. She has been able to pursue another of her passions, leading worship at church. Not surprisingly, one of her great joys is being called Auntie E and spending time with her nephews and niece!
I’d love for you to tell me about your family and send me a picture or two.
