Changes at Rademacher Bros Eggs

In July of 2019, I introduced our egg producers at Rademacher Bros Eggs, Nolan and Reagan Rademacher. Since that time, there have been a few changes at their farm.

By the fall of 2019, their flock had aged to the point that they were no longer producing eggs so over the winter months 120 Rhode Island Red pullets (baby female chickens) were started on their farm. As the chicks grew, Nolan and Reagan decided to end their partnership in the egg business, and Nolan became the sole owner of the flock.

Nolan and his family still live on their small family farm near Hope, Illinois. This will be his 6th year producing pasture-raised eggs. The hens free range during the day which gives them access to fresh grass, bugs, sunshine, exercise, the ability to scratch, and allows them to just be chickens. At night they are shut in to protect them from predators. Because of this clean healthy environment, the chickens have no need for antibiotics or other medications which are routinely given in commercial poultry operations. Custom blended here at Sonrise Farms, their feed is of the highest quality, fresh and non-GMO.

In the spring of 2020, those 120 happy, healthy chickens began producing the most amazing, delicious and nutritious eggs imaginable.
