When most people think of beef brisket, it conjures up images of a Texas-style smoked BBQ brisket. It is often viewed as the Holy Grail of good American Barbecue because it’s really hard to perfect a smoked brisket recipe.
Smoking brisket is a feat in itself, as it takes forever! The cook time can be anywhere from 12 to 20 hours depending on how intense you want to be with it. That is a long time to cook one piece of meat.
I’m a busy farm wife and mother who doesn’t have that much time to spend smoking or grilling meat, but I do enjoy beef brisket so I decided to keep things simple and make my brisket in the crockpot.
I know this recipe won’t win awards for being authentic barbecue, but it will give you a very tender and flavorful brisket with a minimal amount of work.
